Plastics Industry
Uniquely formulated to meet the exacting needs of today’s modern Plastics Industries. Autosol Metal Polish primary use is on steel surfaces and hard chrome plated steel rollers, that are prone to plastic residue build up (Commonly known as “Plate out”) during the extrusion and molding process.
Extrusion chill rolls
Extrusion chill rolls have to be cleaned periodically to remove the residue build up. This is especially important since the roller surface is imparted onto the extruded plastic sheet, and any surface imperfections on the roller are transferred to the sheet. It is essential to maintain a mirror fi nish on the rollers to optimize extruded sheet quality.
Plastic blow molding molds & thermoforming molding molds
Plastic bottle blow molding molds & thermoforming molding molds should be cleaned and polished regularly to inhibit residue build up. Most aluminum molds need to be cleaned on a regular basis, especially those used to thermoform clear plastic. AUTOSOL Metal Polish removes plastic residue and polishes the mold surface to a bright finish and promote mold release properties
Extrusion Sheet Dies
The dies essentially control the flow of plastic entering the chill rolls, and are responsible for accurate sheet gauge. The internal passages, or fl ow channels are highly polished to achieve an even fl ow of plastic. Over time the internal passages collect carbon deposits that affect the plastic flow. To restore die performance remove die and clean and polish all plastic contacts surfaces with AUTOSOL Metal Polish.
Tool & Die manufacturers
Tool & Die manufacturers producing molds for the Thermoforming industry have a need to polish the contact surfaces of the aluminum molds. AUTOSOL offers an economical and effective means to obtain the desired result in less time than other polishing compounds. General Use: AUTOSOL Metal Polish can be used for polishing most metal surfaces including: Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Chrome, Brass, Copper etc. It is not recommended for use on gold and silver.
